What, are you trying to start a feud between me and crazy old Tom? I'm not going to do that. I'm not afraid of the Church of Scientology, I just don't think it's fair to make fun of people who are not in the right state of mind.
What's with the dates on all these posts and comments?
Day.Month.Year. Progression by size. Also known as European style. The current U.S. standard (month/day/year) has absolutely no logical basis and so I do not use it. I have also abandoned English units in favor of metric.
Ideally, I would like to go YearMonthDay.HourMinuteSecond in accordance with the principles of metric time. The idea is to represent time as a single number, with common units of time all based on factors of ten times the length of a day. (e.g.- 200680108.2045 would be the value for year-2006 month-8 day-010 hour-8 minute-20 second-45) These values can then be added, subtracted, arranged in chronological (ascending) order, multiplied by other units, etc. with ease.
Unfortunately, metric time has not caught on yet, and Day.Month.Year was the closest this site offers. This will change, but I'm more concerned with getting metric units for size, temperature, mass, into usage first.
I'm assuming this is already much more than you wanted to know, so I'll stop here.
That still doesn't answer the question of why this post says it's from November 10, 2007.
I wanted this post to stay at the top. Election Day of next year seemed an appropriate date to use to ensure this post remains the most current. Election Day 2008 was too far ahead to use.

I may tell you what you should do and what you should think, but I won’t dictate how you can comment. Most blogs keep focused on current entries, letting past entries fade into irrelevance. This is not the case here. By the nature of this endeavor, I am more concerned with things happening than with when they actually happen.
